In this photo, nationally-known Forensic Pathologist Cyril Wecht, M.D., J.D., completes his presentation on the Forensic Experts who testified in the OJ Simpson trial at the 1996 conference of the American College of Legal Medicine held in Las Vegas, Nevada.

1996 Conference for Testifying and Consulting Experts, San Francisco, CA

Experts and attorneys from all over the US and Canada enjoy Dr. Stan Brodsky's presentation on avoiding "Courtroom Quicksand & Disasters" at the 1996 conference.

Attorney Alan Gold presents an outstanding review of the case law on Expert Negligence. Truly one of the best presentations of the conference.

The Honorable Gordon R. Melson, Presiding Judge of the South-Central Judicial Administrative District of Oklahoma and Erica L. Markum, Esq., Office of the Chief Trial Counsel for the State Bar of California respond to questions from the audience on Ethical Issues Affecting Experts and Attorneys.

Attorney Frank L. Branson of Dallas, Texas ponders a lighter moment during his presentation on the "Video Depositions From Hell". This presentation showed how not to give a deposition and offered a number of appalling admissions from notable deponents such as the physician who drank alcohol on rounds and took narcotics in the hall outside the deposition room, airline mechanics who admitted to having used cocaine on the job, and many other examples designed to make you want to live like a monk the rest of your life!

Professor James E. Starrs of George Washington Law School (with the film crew from Discovery TV behind him) introduces Dr. Benjamin's presentation on Government-Sponsored LSD Administration to Unwitting Subjects during the 1950s, as part of Professor Starrs' symposium on the Death of Dr. Frank Olson after a suspicious fall from a hotel window in 1953, nine days after having received LSD from the CIA without his knowledge. Suicide or homicide? Dum, da dum dum!

Standing behind the official tee shirt of the Frank Olson Forensic Team, Dr. Benjamin explains how CIA officials were themselves "stoned" on LSD at the time they were trying to evaluate its effects on Dr. Olson. "Putting the inmates in charge of the asylum is what I call it," said Dr. Benjamin.
